Function description
After entering the target parameters, the ISDM fire control computer automatically programs the flight mission of the munition and enters the data for the time delay for mine self-destruction. After remote installation of mines, it independently creates a map of the mined area. It then forwards all information to the higher headquarters.
History of ISDM
At the urging of the Russian Ministry of Defense, the development of ISDM was undertaken by the Tula-based firm NPO Splav in 2014. The project was designated OKR Zemedeliye-I. Mock-ups of the system, designated as ISDM, were reportedly displayed at the Army-2016 international military-technical forum. Three years later, at the Army-2019 forum, the Russian army signed a contract with the Techmash Tula concern for the supply of combat vehicles and ammunition. The ISDM system was presented to the public at a military parade in Moscow on June 24, 2020.
The use of ISDM probably occurred during the fighting in Syria and certainly in the current Russian-Ukrainian war.
