222 Remington Magnum
In the mid-1950s, this cartridge was developed as a military cartridge in a collaboration between Remington and the Springfield Arsenal. The cartridge did not suit military use Remington began offering it as a hunting cartridge in 1958, but even this attempt was not successful. The 3.56 g bullet has a muzzle velocity of 985 m/sec. The cartridge in the picture was made by the Finnish company Sako A.B., Riihimaki, on the right is the 223 Remington cartridge. Photo by the author.
