In the first weeks of the war, this unit carried out a number of attacks against the advancing Wehrmacht columns. In late 1941, it operated in the air defense of Leningrad and then in the same role in the defense of Moscow, when it was armed with LaGG-3 aircraft. A year later, she took part in operations over Stalingrad, while in 1943 she operated at the Bryansk, Kalinin and Volkhov fronts. In the summer of the same flow, she fought at Kursk. After the fighting on the 1st Baltic Front, she participated in crossing the Dnieper River. In the summer of 1944, after being converted to Jak-3 aircraft, she fought over the Soviet-Romanian border. Then she continued the fighting over Hungary, Czechoslovakia and Austria and ended the war at the 1st Ukrainian Front. The total account of the unit numbered 327 victories ..
