The T. G. Masaryk steam armoured train was built immediately after the end of the war by the Czechoslovak Armored Train Company freshly moved to Nymburk. Mention of its assembly appears in the report of the ROV commander, Capt. Bartošík about the company's status dated 24.5.1945. The train originated from a German armoured train set obtained on the night of 8.5.1945 to 9.5.1945 in Lysá nad Labem. It was a combined set of older design machine-gun and mortar wagons, but which had been modernized. Furthermore, the train set had a pair of modern gun carriages Panzerjägerwagen of the new BP 44 train set type. The airborne tank cars came from train set No. 206. From the same source the first armored train POV Svoboda was created.
The commander of the train was appointed Capt. Zachař. The train left on 28.6.1945 for Moravian Hranice. On 10.7.1945 it was withdrawn to the train station Praha-Vršovice and after a few days it was sent to Karlovy Vary.
In the inventory of equipment at the end of 1945, the T. G. Masaryk train consisted of a locomotive, a provisional car, two tank cars, a gun car, two machine gun cars and one mortar car. The train set had a tank Pz.Kpfw. 38(t) and an armored train Panhard.
In the equipment inventory at the time of the official conversion of the Armored Train Company to the Armored Train Battalion in the fall (autumn) of 1947, the train set consisted of the same equipment as in the end of 1945. The only thing missing was the Panhard armored train.
As of December 27, 1949, the assembly and markings of the T. G. Masaryk (since changed to OV-2) was as follows:
