KSM
КСМ
The KSM moored mine (КСМ) is a non-contact mine that responds to the electric field of ships and submarines. The design is based on the 1937-1941 NEM mine design, whose testing in the Black Sea in 1941 was interrupted by the outbreak of the Great Patriotic War. The development carried out by the NII-400 design bureau was completed in 1957, and the mine was inducted into the arsenal in the same year. The mine's antenna fuze responds to an electric field that is generated by the vessel. The electrode distance of the fuse can be set to 40 or 60 m, and the fuse is equipped with a safety system that prevents accidental activation (activation of the mine occurs only if the mine is exposed to the electric field for more than 2.1 seconds).

Basic tactical technical data:
- Mine body diameter: 875 mm
- Length: 2300 mm
- Height: 1475 mm
- Width: 920 mm
- Weight: 1300 kg
- Combat charge weight: 300 kg
- Operational depth: 120-1500 m
- Mine to anchor distance: 10-210 m
- Fuse activation distance: 28 m horizontally, 36 m above the mine
- Minimum mine spacing: 60 m

In 1960, the mine was upgraded to a UKSM mine by the design bureau of the Kuybyshev Machine-Building Plant.
