I suppose a shortcut BTRG-127 can be decrypted as: armored belt (бронетранспортёр гусеничный, БТРГ). The added numbers 127 probably stems from the caliber of the main weapon (machine gun 12.7 mm).

Insights:
The transnistrian armored personnel carriers BTRG arose by the rebuilding of the self-propelled floor layers min: GMZ-2 (Object 118-2) and. The first specimens BTRG arose allegedly in 1992.
