Dear Sirs,
I would like to present some photos of an interesting Ukrainian reconstruction of the BRDM-2. Russian Internet researchers found out about this vehicle:
1/the vehicle was once demilitarized,
2/the new owner rebuilt the vehicle into a floating self-propelled fishing base,
3/after the outbreak of fighting in eastern Ukraine, the vehicle was reactivated and rebuilt,
4/the auxiliary wheels of the chassis were removed and the fuselage body was added,
5/there was speculation about the replacement of the power unit - petrol for diesel,
6/the ceiling of the vehicle was equipped with a remote-controlled firing position (зенитная пулемётная установка, ЗПУ),
7/station armed with a machine gun NSVT caliber 12.7 mm,
8/the mentioned station is identical with the construction used on the T-64 tanks,
9/the vehicle was allegedly used by an unspecified unit of the Ukrainian Ministry of Interior.
No further information is known.
