Flamethrower Tank OT-134

Short History
At the turn of 1939-1940, two prototypes of the OT-134 flamethrower light tank were produced in the Leningrad Zavod No. 174 named K. Je. Voroshilov, according to other sources, the tank bore the designation ChT-134. The tank was structurally based on a single-tower variant of the T-26 tank, Fig. 1939, and was equipped with additional armor. There were changes in the deployment of armaments, the turret received a tank cannon and the flamethrower was moved in front of the frontal armor to the left of the driver. The driving characteristics were identical to the modernized version of the light tank T-26 Fig. 1939 g. Equipped with "screens" - that is, additional armor. The published photographs show that during tests in January 1940, one of the prototypes rode at the polygon in Kubinka without hull additional armor.

In the so-called winter war with Finland, at least one of the prototypes was assigned to the 210th Independent Chemical Battalion, and at the beginning of the war with Germany, both prototypes were in the state of the Moscow military district.

Category Explanations
According to the RKKA farming manual, issued on April 1, 1940, military equipment, including tanks, was divided into five quality classes. These were five levels that distinguished the combat capability of the observed technique:

1st category - a new as yet unused combat-ready technique
Category 2 - combat-ready equipment requiring routine maintenance
Category 3 - equipment requiring medium repair in departmental workshops
Category 4 - equipment requiring major repairs in central workshops and factories
Category 5 - incompetent technique
