Heckler & Koch G3

In the mid-fifties it was considered the German ministry of defence the introduction of assault rifles in caliber 7,62 NATO. Voloba fell on the Spanish CETME Model B (in whose development he participated in the German engineer Ludwig Vorgrimler) and in 1957 acquired the company Heckler & Koch production license. Her modification was created assault rifle G3, which was introduced in 1959 in the arsenal of the Bundeswehr substitute for the rifle FN FAL. The G3 and its variants have been the German armed forces used in the mid 90's. years, when they were replaced by the rifle G36. Production in Germany ended only in 2001. Some variants of the G3 still uses the German border guards and the police. G3 was in the large quantities exported and built under license manufactured, was in the arsenal of more than 75 countries.

G3A3: the most widespread version with a fixed plastic buttstock and a floating main
G3A3A1: G3A3 with double-sided switch in the firing mode and the reflector shell casings
G3A4: variant of the G3A3 with a telescopic butt
G3A4A1: a variant with double-sided switch in the firing mode and the reflector shell casings
G3KA4: the shortest variant with 315 mm main and a telescopic butt
G3KA4A1: a variant with double-sided switch in the firing mode and the reflector shell casings
