The ERC-20 Kriss is armed with the S530F turret developed by SAMM (alternative designation of the turret is also TAB 220 or TAB220). The turret is derived from the S530 turret used in the AML S530 anti-aircraft vehicle, which was produced in numbers of 12 for Venezuela in the first half of the 1970s. The chassis consists of an amphibious armoured car Panhard ERC with 6x6 axles.


Like the original S530, the S530F turret is equipped with the M411 sight, but with a movable optical prism episcopic channel for reconnaissance in the -10° to +70° direction and with a viewing angle for 1X magnification in the range of 77° horizontally and 32° vertically, and seven observation periscopes. Additionally, it could be equipped with an independent Ferranti Mk.3 gyro sight and a receiver for target information from a vehicle equipped with reconnaissance radar (in this configuration, one vehicle with radar could control 6 vehicles with dual canons). In the case of the ERC-20 Kriss, however, this gyro sight is not used and the capabilities of the vehicle remain at the level of the original design - firing at air targets is only possible during good visibility, giving the position of the targets only in the form of a phonic input (distance, altitude, angle in which direction the target is located) via a conventional radio station, followed by an optical search by the gunner.


Armament consists of a pair of 20mm automatic cannons M621 (manufacturer GIAT industries). 280 pieces of ammunition are available for each gun. The firing mode is selectable - single shots, short bursts, continuous, with a cadence of 740 (some sources give 800) shots per barrel per minute. The gunner also has the choice of firing both guns or only one (right or left). The effective firing range for aerial targets ranges from 1500 to 2000 m (1,500 to 2,000 yd). Empty cartridges when firing are ejected outside the turret.
