Po svojom vzniku v januári 1940 sa pluk stal súčasťou British Expedionary Force. V kontinentálnej Európe pôsobil až do júna 1940, keď sa stal súčasťou 45th Anti-Aircraft Brigade a následne 64th Anti-Aircraft Brigade v posádkach Cardiff a Swansea na Britských ostrovoch.
