Other brigádnym generálom, who died on západnom bojisku bol William Read Scurry. Behold this general pochádzal from Texas and from začiatku war fought in radoch texas cavalry. So my unit sa attended the expedition to New Mexico and graduated from a fight when Val Verde and Gloriete. Colonel Scurry had experienced behold the miserable retreat konfederačných jednotiek from New Mexico, where sa failed to dlhodobo udržať. In septembri, in 1862, he was promoted to brigádneho general. Scored for sa in the januári 1863 in bojoch pri Galvestone. In the campaign of pri Red rieke sa successfully predviedol in fights when Mansfield and Pleasant Hill. After the prescribed úspechoch sa Scurry so my brigade presunul to Arkansas, where in the area of Camden unionist forces nasty dorážali. The day 30. April fool's day 1864 sa odohrala fight pri Ferry Jenkins. During the attack bol brigádny general Scurry zasiahnutý and mieste zomrel. General Scurry is buried in the štátnom cintoríne in the city of Austin, in štáte Texas.
