Colonel Alfred And. Kessler Jr. (in the middle) on a visit to an american military base in the Poltave (169 отдельная база особого назначения), soviet russia. To the right stands the sovietsky veliteľ base major general Alexander Romanovich Perminov (генерал-майор Александр Романович Перминов). Spoločne vítajú captain (Captain) Frank Carney (vľavo), who just has landed with his Boeingom B-17 on the letisku in the framework of the shares of Frantic. Poltava, USSR, 06.07.1944.

From this base prebiehala from June to septembra 1944 akcia code názvom Frantic - využitie sovietskych letísk pre american bombers štartujúce of Veľkej Britain and južného Talianska. After the fulfillment of the mission over the Európou tieto pristávali on one of the little sovietskych letísk (Poltava, Mirgorod, Pirjatin) and subsequently odtiaľ vzlietli on ďalšiu misiu and landed in the materskom letisku.
