Jagdpanzer 38(t) ve službách cizích armád

The Jagdpanzer 38 (t) was one of the types that the Germans supplied to their allies. This tank destroyer began to be produced only in the last year of World War II, so it got into the armament of the only German ally, Hungary. Other users became his enemies, into whose hands these machines fell like booty.

Jagdpanzer 38 (t) in the French Army
The FFI squadron Besnier also included the Jagdpanzer 38 (t). Until recently, it was not known from the well-known pair of photos of this vehicle whether it was a full-fledged tank destroyer with a cannon or a vehicle without a cannon, which could be Bergepanzer 38 (t). The assumption that it is a rescue vehicle was confirmed by the fact that the vehicle does not have a ceiling armor, respectively. its part. See the mounting of an American 7.62 mm Browning machine gun where its operator is standing in an open space. Now, however, a photograph has appeared where the cannon's mount is visible. It is thus a full-fledged fighter, which for an unknown reason probably does not have a ceiling armor. The question is whether he has a sight at all, because the machine gun operator is at the place where he should be.
On the sides of the superstructure is painted a pair of American stars, between which is painted a French tricolor and an unidentifiable inscription.
The source states the date of April 21, 1945. The vehicle is standing in front of a Ford building in France (?).

Jagdpanzer 38 (t) in the Yugoslav Army
The Jagdpanzer 38 (t) tank destroyer can also be found in a constellation of captured armored vehicles in Yugoslavia. According to some sources, the numbers of captured vehicles could be counted in tens of pieces. After the war, they served to train tank crews.
In 1946, eight fighters were to be in the 2nd Tank Brigade. Five tank fighters were to be in the state of the tank school in Belá Cerkva from 11/1945. It is said that the fighters remained in service until their decommissioning in 1952. The vehicles were to carry three-color camouflage.
Some vehicles were to take part in crew training in friendly Albania.

Jagdpanzer 38 (t) in ROA (Russian Liberation Army)
At the turn of 3-4 April 1945, she received 1. Russian ROA Division (in German numbering 600. Infantry Division) 10 pcs of tank destroyers Jagdpanzer 38 (t ) and one piece of rescue Bergepanzera 38 (t). At the very end of the war, ROA units tried to get into American captivity before the final surrender. Between 5 - 9 May 1945, this unit moved around Prague. At that time there was an uprising in Prague and units 1. Russian Division ROA arbitrarily, without the permission of the higher command ROA more or less joined the Czech insurgents (local fighting also took place between soldiers ROA[/i ] and insurgents). Jagdpanzers, for example, took part in the battles for the Ruzyně airport. On the eve of the surrender, the ROA units disengaged and headed for the demarcation line, where they wanted to surrender to American troops. However, the American command refused to take them captive. The unit thus prepared for the final battle with the Soviet army and Czech partisans. The last larger units and machines capitulated and fell into captivity of Soviet troops May 13 - 14, 1945.
