Astra ACTL (přehled verzí)

The Astra ACTL (AutoCarro Tattico Logistico) is a range of multi-purpose trucks developed at the request of the Italian Armed Forces and entered service in 2002. The production is carried out by Astra Veicoli Industriali S.p.A, a company belonging to the IVECO group. It also sells these vehicles on international markets under its own IVECO brand.

The vehicles are available in 4 x 4, 6 x 6 and 8 x 8 drive versions with different powertrain outputs or transmissions. The manufacturer itself refers to the entire ACTL (AutoCarro Tattico Logistico) range as SMR - Standart Military Range in its promotional materials and refers to the individual chassis types as SMx 12.34 a-XYZ, while:
SM - Standart Militare
x - the basic type range does not include (some sources specify R for the basic type range), or it may be H - Heavy, or G for double cab
12 - axle drive symbol. Standard 44 for 4x4, 66 for 6x6, 84 for 8x4 and 88 for 8x8
34 - powertrain output in horsepower divided by 10 (30 - 300 hp, 31 - 310 hp, etc.)

X - wheelbase. Values A, B, C and Z. For 4x4 vehicles the wheelbase for A is 3500 mm, B is 4200 mm and C is 4800 mm. For 6x6 vehicles (between 1st and 2nd axle) A - 3300 mm, B - 3750 mm, C - 4200 mm. According to the manufacturer's brochure, all 8x8 vehicles are supposed to have only one code, namely B. I have not been able to identify the Z code
