The original Tank section 190 was compiled 1. August 1942 in the Military district III with four companies in the Tank brigade 100 and was designed for the north african battlefield. However, he was not sent to Africa, but 4. September 1942 it was renamed to II. section Tank regiment 202 and the same day was the original II. section Tank regiment 202 renamed to new Tank section 190, which was transferred to Africa to 90. african division. 26. February 1943 there was another reorganization, the section was renamed to II. section Panzer regiment 5, from the original II. the Panzer regiment 5 originated - as the third in the order - new Tank section 190. That was in may 1943 destroyed in the Tunisia.
