Na základě francouzského souhlasu ze dne 18.5.1940 a na rozkaz inspektora stíhacího letectva gen. d´Harcouta vznikla dne 5.6.1940 reorganizací 2.escadrille GC I/6 první československá letecká jednotka ve Francii - 1.čs. stíhací letka. Byla vyzbrojena letadly M.S.406C.1. Jejímy příslušníky byli:
