Seven months after initial operating capability has reached 2. flota 31. December 2019, the full operational capability. It means that flota is able to secure the command and control of assigned forces and funds through the operational functions and processes of the so-called maritime operations center and maritime headquarters.

The task of flot is the protection of the interests and of maritime routes off the east coast of the USA, in the North Atlantic, including the Arctic region. In červni 2019 commanded flota exercise Baltic Operations (BALTOPS) in favor of the Headquarters of the naval forces in Europe. Flota set up in September advanced maritime operational centre in the icelandic Airport.

The commander of the 2. flot is at the same time, within the structure of NATO the commander of the United forces command in Norfolk.
