Dear Sirs,
On August 5, the first set of tests of the modernized PVO system Osa was completed. The tests took place in Belarus at the 174th Air Force Polygon and were evaluated as satisfactory.
Part of the modernization is a change of chassis. The tested version of the Axis was placed on the chassis of a truck MAZ-6317 (6x6). The manufacturer also replaced the old electronic equipment with new devices and designated the upgrade as: 9A33-2B. The intention of the modernization is to increase the viability of the product, reduce operating costs, improve tactical and technical properties and improve the working conditions of the operator.
Comparative characteristics of system 9A33-2B with 9A33BM3:
- chassis: MAZ-6317, originally: BAZ-5937
- fuel consumption fell to 46 dm3/100 km, originally: 62 dm3/100 km
- locator detection range increased to 53 km, originally: 45 km
- the distance error decreased to 35 m, originally: 120 m
- the azimuth error decreased to 0.15 °, originally: 0.9 °
- effective long-range range maintained: 10.3 km
- effective altitude range maintained: 5 km
- efficiency against incoming targets maintained up to 500 m/s
- efficiency against departing targets maintained up to 300 m/s
- number of guided missiles: 6 pieces
- added monitoring optoelectronics
- added simulator
- allegedly 70% of electronics were digitized
