3.-6. June
Russians begin assault with heavy 3-day preparatory fire, regiment holds steadfast. Enemies who stormed 5th into positions of neighboring regiment repulsed by regimental advance counterattack. On the night of 5/6 June the regiment retreats to the 3rd defensive line on orders; on the 6th at midday the positions are abandoned and a retreat is ordered along the Romanów-Zwierów line, which had been occupied by the Russians before their arrival. During the retreat the corps and two companies of the III Battalion fell prisoner.
7 June
The Russians launch mass attacks on the regiment entrenched on the Kol. Wisnyewszkaja and Wisnyew, after bypassing their own right flank retreat via E. St. Kiwercy-Zabka-Klepaczew-Sierchow to Sierniki. A large number fell during the fighting of the regiment, due to exhaustion and straying into captivity.
8-9 June
Continues retreat along the Iwanczyczy-Ulaniki-Ozdeniz line.
