history
The unit was created 12. January 1916 on the base of Netheravon as a fighter and in may of the same year he moved to France, where over the Western front operates until the end of the fighting 1. world war ii and gradually specializes in attacks on ground targets. After the announcement of the armistice in march 1919 returned to the Uk, where it is rámcována and 29. December 1919 disbanded.
The second arises 1. April 1923 at the base of the Kenley again as a fighter (the second and the third squadron were incurred in the December, 1923, respectively. in June of 1924) and in this role shall enter also into the fighting 2. world war. Initially tasked with the defence tasks over France and south-eastern England. Participates in and the Battle of Britain. The end of the year 1940 starts with night flying and taking night offensive sorties over France. At that time, with her serve and a few czechoslovak pilots. In July 1942 it was withdrawn from the fighting and in September moves to North Africa. After the end of the fighting on this battlefield operates in Italy and later in Greece, where it acts as a fighter-bomber. At the very end of the war is shifting to Palestine. In the Mediterranean area (Palestine, Cyprus, Malta, Egypt or Jordan) and Persian gulf (Yemen) operate until 1957, when it returns to Britain, where during the January re-equipped with the aircraft, Canberra. After retraining with the same month shifts to Cyprus, where it operates until its dissolution 3. February 1969.
On the same day is the Metropolitan Communications Squadron at the base Northolt renamed the 32. squadron, and from this base operates to the present. The main focus of its activities is providing transportation of persons and material in areas of combat operations of light transport the machine and helicopters and partly also the transport of VIP passengers.
