RDM-6 - radio relay station for providing communication at the operational-tactical and operational command level. The set consists of a mobile six-channel station with frequency modulation.
When operating on site, it allows simultaneous transmission of one service and 6 subscriber duplex telephone calls. It can be used as a terminal, relay or node. The equipment is housed in a ZIL-131 off-road cabinet.
Frequency band: Divided into three sub-bands.
- Subband A from 60 to 119.9 MHz spaced at 100 kHz,
- Subband B from 120 to 239.8 MHz spaced at 200 kHz,
- Subband C from 240 to 479.6 MHz spaced at 400 kHz.
Type of operation: frequency modulated telephony (F3).
Number of sections and range: the RDM-6 radio relay station can form up to 3 relayed sections on the A
subrange, the range on one section is per
terrain up to 150 km, on the B, C
subranges 6 to 8
relayed sections can be formed, the range on one section is per
terrain up to 250
km.
Transmitter power:
- basic 5W
- full 50W
Antenna: for subrange A is logarithmic.
Each semi-set has a common directional antenna with separate radiators and a common planar reflector, adapted to be mounted on a telescopic mast to a height of 5 to 19 m. Antenna polarization is vertical or horizontal. The antenna systems can be rotated 180°.
Receiver sensitivity:
- in subrange A 20 microV
- in subrange B 23 microV
- in subrange C 16 microV
Power supply:
- from the mains 230V / 50 Hz - unlimited
- from an auxiliary generator 8 kVA, max. 10 hours
- from lead-acid battery 12V/68AH type 6 SZT-68
- from two 4kVA power generators (transported in the source trailer) max. 48 hours.
Maximum current drawn from the mains: 15.4 A ± 0.5 A.
