DO 188 was located in the Pod Hájom barracks. The detachment was established by MNO Regulation No.7645-T/1946. The commander of the detachment was Staff Captain of Artillery /later Major/ Ján Harničár. It initially consisted of two four-cannon batteries armed with 37 mm PLK vz.39S and one frame battery. On March 3, 1948 the squad was granted the honorary historical name "Zažkovský" On August 22, 1949 the squad was relocated to Žilina. After the transfer to the new garrison, a new commander of the detachment was appointed, Sgt. Ondrej Rolf.
