Engineer Group Headquarters III [1936-1938]


The command was established on 26 June 1936. It was located in Králíky and was subordinated to the Directorate of Fortification Works [1935-1939]. The command was responsible for the construction of fortifications on a 36 km long line (from April 1937 only 22 km) between the 783 Maliník cot. east of Velká Morava and the 992 Komáří vrch cot. (from April 1937 the 595 Jedlina cot. east of Klášterec nad Orlicí), on which 58 objects were delineated (39 isolated infantry logs, eight fortress infantry logs, three entrance objects, three artillery turrets, three artillery logs, one mortar log, one artillery observation post), of which 57 objects were designed and commissioned for construction. By September 1938, all but one of the objects had been completed and most of them had been armed.

Heavy Fortification Construction Subdivision 5/III [1936-1938] (from August 1936),
Heavy Fortification Construction Subdivision 6/III [1936-1938] (from July 1936),
Heavy Fortification Construction Sub-piece 7/III [1937-1938] (from January 1937),
Guard Battalion III [1936-1938] (November 1936 - January 1938).


The commanders of the Engineer Group Command were:
Lieutenant Colonel of the Engineer Troops Karel Spalek (June 1936 - May 1938),
Lieutenant Colonel of the Engineer Troops Frantrisek Bláha (from May 1938).
