In mid-November 1944 with a crew of 5. panzer army which was then commanded by general Hasso von Manteuffel, shifted from cášského the battlefield, and prepared for the Ardennes offensive under the code name Command field hunters for special uses. Its place was taken by 15. the army, which is in the area of Aachen moved from Holland under the code name of the Army group von Manteuffel. In Holland its place is taken over by the newly formed 25. the army, which for a change she carried a cover label 15. army
So it should be created the impression that 5. tank army as part of army group and its commander is still in the area of Aachen.
