The test section Friedrichshafen was established 2. November 1939 from part 1. the company Even. battalion parachute regiment 1 and sapper platoon II. the battalion of the same regiment. Shortly after the formation of the section renamed to employing koch's postulates assault section after their commander captain Walter Koch.
