The group was established on 26 August 1939 in Military District II for the Sectional Command of Border Protection 1 Neustettin. The group was deployed in Poland. On 22 June 1940 the Group was moved to the West, where individual commissariats were assigned to Army Groups A, B and C. From the summer of 1940 to the spring of 1941 the group was stationed in Dijon and Saint-Germain. On 25 April 1941, the group was moved to Köslin and assigned to the 207th Reinsurance Division. The group operated on the Eastern Front and ended the war in Trieste.
