History The Royal Malta Artillery Regiment
The history of the regiment began in 1800. When the Maltese Light Infantry Battalion was formed in the British Army.
In 1802, the battalion was disbanded and replaced by three different units The Maltese Provincial Battalions, The Malta Coast Artillery and The Maltese Veterans.
In 1815, these units merged to form The Royal Malta Fencible Regiment.
In 1829, the regiment was included in the British Regular Army.
