Poslednou obeťou of radov generality in bitke in divočine bol brigádny general Leroy Augustus Stafford. This general pochádzal of rich plantážnickej family from Louisiana. After štúdiu sa dedicated the family plantation. After the outbreak of the U.s.-mexican war sa registered ako dobrovoľník. After the end of the war sa returned to the rodnú plantation. Bol decisive zástancom secesie. After secession he became a member of the militia of the state of Louisiana, but čoskoro vstúpil to konfederačnej army. Slúžil in 9. lousianskom pešom regiment and gradually sa reworked for his veliteľa.

In jeseni 1862 bol his regiment priradený to brigáde "Lousianskych tygrov". After bitke pri Antietam and the death of general Stark dočasne took velenie brigade. After the fights during the Chancellorsville and Gettysburg he was promoted to brigádneho general and became the sa riadnym brigádnym veliteľom 2. lousianskej pešej brigade. In osudovej bitke him guľka prerazila miechu. His podriadení him fast odniesli to the hospital. He lived even three days, well nakoniec his last fight still. Left after itself the widow and deväť sirôt. He's buried at cintoríne Hollywood in Richmond, in štáte Virginia.
