Papa Airport


Construction of the airport began in 1936. During World War II it served the Hungarian and German military air forces. After the liberation, it was occupied by the Soviet Air Force, whose units were stationed there until 1961, when it was handed over to the Hungarian Air Force.
The airport is currently one of the three air bases of the Hungarian Air Force and is also used by NATO forces.
