In the summer of 1943, the Azerbaijani Infantry Battalion 819 was assembled in occupied Poland from volunteers, deserters and prisoners of war coming from Azerbaijan; its training was directed by the Azerbaijani Legion.
In Poland, he was deployed in anti-Partisan operations in the rear of the 4th Panzer Army, and from October 1944 as part of the Special Use Division 602 in the Kraków area and Upper Silesia.
