The Schwere Panzer-Company Meyer was conceptualized as so-called alarm unit (Allarmeinheit) at the end of July 1943 in the Paderborn and armed with eight tanks Pz.Kpfw. VI Ausf. E Tiger, which took over from the Tank replacement and training of section 500. Subsequently, she was sent to the Innsbruck, where he had undertaken her training. As a result of adverse developments in Italy, however, shortly afterwards received an order to relocate the Apennine peninsula and participate in the disarmament of the Italian army (plan Achse). After the railroad moved to the Brenner pass and from there continued on its own axis in the Milan, later then to Modena, and Rome.
Since the end of January until march 1944 fought against the allied forces, attempting to penetrate inland after landing with the Anzio.
3. march 1944 was incorporated into Heavy tank section 508.
