ScanEagle in the Czech army

Unmanned reconnaissance vehicle ScanEagle acquired Army of the Czech republic in the form of aid financed by the american fund to support the fight against terrorism. From the receipt of the official offer of the american side to its operational use by Czech troops two years have passed. The gift thus was obtained a total of 10 reconnaissance drones, which creates one complete system Scan Eagle. The price of the system, including spare parts to ensure operation for a period of 1,200 flight hours amounted to 9,6 million dollars (235 million). After the completion of the military tests directly in Afghanistan was a system day 1. June 2015, passed 4. the guard company at the air base Bagrám to the full operational use. Operation of the device securing members 102. the recon battalion (in the first half of the year 2015 for the use of the system have been trained in the U.S. in two stages 16 Czech soldiers from this unit). The remedy has been used to improve the overview of the situation in the place of performance of the task of the Czech unit, which was responsible for guarding part of the perimeter of this base. After the termination of the deployment in Afghanistan will be ScanEagle introduced into the armaments 102. the recon battalion where will be destined to the fulfillment of the declared operational capabilities of the brigade task force, where appropriate, will be used also in monitoring of emergency situations.
