F8C-3 built in the spring of 1928, in essence, match the previous version, F8C-1, and differed mainly the provision of additional military equipment. Were also taken over by the marines, which replaced the already well olétané DH-4B/O2B-1. Shortly after the takeover were like F8C-1 renamed, on the OC-2. Their most important user has become a squadron VO-7M, which served in Nicaragua and that is also deployed as a reconnaissance and battle in the fight against sandinovským rebels. The last survivor of the OC-2 was A7952, totaled in October 1935 after 2511 flight hours.

In 1929, the machines VO-7M appeared in the movie Flight by director Frank Capra. Unit here basically play myself in the story is greatly influenced by the battle of Ocotal, July 1927. Then shortly after the initiation of the Sandino rebellion was surrounded by a small marine garrison, in the key moment arrived to help a few aircraft (it was however still about O2B-1, not the OC-2), that the shooting and dive-bombing (it was one of the first cases to use this tactic) the attackers disperse. The scenario should, of course, the actual events do little....
