Objekt byl vybudován na základě areálu lazaretu, postaveného v době 1. světové války. V letech 2. světové války byl areál vojenského gymnázia nejprve využíván pro ubytování jednotek německé armády (protiletadlového dělostřelectva a tankového vojska), ale v roce 1941 zde vznikl zajatecký tábor pro francouzské důstojníky, tzv. OFLAG VIII F. Počátkem roku 1943 se v něm nacházelo 2 100 Francouzů a stovka Jugoslávců. Na sklonku roku 1943 do tábora přišlo 2 500 britských důstojníků. V roce 1944 zajatci odešli a areál převzala pobočka německé firmy Telefunken Fabrik. Výrobní program zahrnoval především elektrosoučástky pro letecký průmysl a pro střely V-1 a V-2.
The building was built on the grounds of the infirmary, built during the First World War. In the years of World War II, the grounds of the military gymnasium were first used to house German army units (anti-aircraft artillery and tank troops), but in 1941 a POW camp for French officers, the so-called OFLAG VIII F, was established there. At the beginning of 1943, it housed 2,100 French and a hundred Yugoslavs. At the end of 1943, 2,500 British officers came to the camp. In 1944, the prisoners left and the site was taken over by a branch of the German company Telefunken Fabrik. The production program mainly included electrical components for the aviation industry and for V-1 and V-2 missiles.
