BRAMS is a modern highly mobile anti-aircraft set designed to destroy low-flying manned and unmanned aerial targets. The armament of the set located in the armored tower consists of an anti-aircraft double cannon 2A38M caliber 30 mm, coupled machine gun caliber 7.62 mm, four ground-to-air guided missiles with infrared self-loading and smoke grenade launchers (2x4). An automated fire control system in cooperation with superior command and control systems allows you to search, automatically track and destroy targets day and night, in normal and severe weather conditions. The modern stabilized optoelectronic sight includes a day and thermal imaging camera and a laser rangefinder. The weapon system is located on a unified Tatra 815 wheeled chassis with 8x8 drive. The multi-layer armor protects the crew's cabin against fragments and classic projectiles of infantry weapons up to 12.7 mm.

Diskuse
How is BRAMS? Is it in production, is it in service, or is it just testing?

Only a prototype built. It is either in VHM Piešt'any or in VTSU Záhorie. Serial production has not started... (no wonder, it would look like a dinosaur on the battlefield...)

Somewhere I saw a photo from VTSÚ Záhorie, it should be there in some hangar together with other technical gems .

But BOV 8x8 (resp. AMV XP) is a slightly different category than the armored T-815 VP 31. The BOV engine has an output of 450 kW, the Tatra engine some 265 kW, which is a fairly large disparity at a similar weight.
There are several layers of PVO. The lowest ground forces at that time provided themselves (PLdvK, S-10, S-2M, Igla), air force subordination brigades (Nitra, Rožňava, Pezinok) provided higher levels (from 2K12 Kub, through S-75 and S- 125 (until their elimination) up to S-300). As I have already said, the lack of a PVO concept also played a role in the demise of BRAMS, as it was not clear how to develop these capabilities. There was a period when the S-10M kits were scrapped, to be reintroduced into service in a few years and then scrapped again. In the end, it ended as it ended - the ground air defense was canceled and all units were concentrated on a brigade in Nitra, which maintains these capabilities and, if necessary, the units would be assigned to battalions.

So wouldn't the solution be to move the shooting module to a lighter chassis? How do you think it would be technically complicated?

The weight of the Potato is 27100 kg, the T-815VP31 chassis alone weighs 16400 kg. This means that the ammunition tower weighs about 10,000 kg. Even if it fits the BVP chassis ( CEILING), or MT-LB (or its clones) , so the weight of the product exceeds 20000 kg. Taking a tower and throwing it somewhere else is not the solution. On the other hand, the cannons and missiles + software themselves are OK. Using current electronics and installing it in an unmanned tower shouldn't be such a problem - the question is whether it's economically viable. And I doubt it. A system similar to BRAMS has developed in Poland - SOPEL - although the cannons are only 23 mm, but the rest is similar - but unlike BRAMS, the Polish resource is more than 10,000 kg lighter. But even the police, who did not spare the army, did not eventually implement their system.
