Area I - Hánín

The settlement area of the slavic fortified settlement we have doloženu already in the time of la tene, of that time are demonstrably managed to find 2 recessed cottage.
The fortified settlement on the area of about 5 ha is situated on the right bank of the river Elbe on the outskirts of the city of Cologne. Settlement even though so far without fortifications here could appear already at the end of 9. century. The actual fortifications were then built in 10. century and the use of the fortified settlement continued further into the century 11. In this period fortified settlement and its burial ground is located about 300 meters to the north. Near the fortification is the assumption of the existence of the ford, which would hradiště both could enjoy, and especially to guard. It was originally a small ridge, which was called the Big Rock. That was from three sides - east, south and west flow past Labem, which location and opevňovalo. As a logical place for entry then appears the north side of the hillfort. On the southeast side is the curled extremity of the rocky walls, which could be intepretovat as a place where she could become the next gateway.
Hradiště and its surroundings were severely damaged after the here in 2. the mid-19th. the century began with the extraction of building stone, when this activity was discontinued after 2. world war. After blasting the largest quarry in the 1950s was flooding of the bottom water and by here, approximately in the middle of the fort, create an artificial area of water. The smaller quarries were mostly buried construction waste. Further damage brought by the summer of 1913 to 1927, when there was a settlement of the river and from the original so left the wetlands at the eastern side of the hillfort. Yet in parts of the south and most of the eastern side of the hillfort preserved val.
