At the end of his service with the 11th Slp, the coat of arms of the town of Žatec was painted on the left side (between the number and the wing). The attached sketch was drawn according to the "Aero Manual MiG-21 (No 2)", published by Ing. Jiří Brož
P.S. The emblem of the city was "for the first time" painted on the right side of the fuselage of the Li-2 (2710) by the command swarm of the 3rd PVOS Corps. Then on the MiG-21PFM and MiG-21US aircraft of the 11th Sqn. The emblem was painted on the aircraft in the so-called "simplified" shape, which differed somewhat from the official ("heraldic") shape. In the attached picture it is on the right side for comparison.

Diskuse

In the documentary film "Start Permitted" from 1973 made by the Czechoslovak Army Film at the 1st Fighter Regiment in České Budějovice, there are several shots of this aircraft.Namely Colonel Vaclav Ohem is doing a weather sweep on it before the flight action.

Vážení,
náš jednorázový kolega Caroman, uvedl 2. března 2009 na jiném webu:

"So, lets try to sort and to be as accurate as possible, avoiding to just cut and paste any sentences we could find here and there. MiG 21 US was built in the factory N°700 in Nijni Novgorod in 1969 under serial number N°02685141 It serves then in Czech Air Force under mark number 0241 Decomissioned in 1993, affected to Czech Forces Historic Institute, a separate organisation leaded by Defence Ministery. Was at this point rent to VZLU (a state organisation leaded by Industry Ministery) as OK-004, and mainly used as chase plane for an other very famous aeroplane, MiG 21 U OK-016, a specially modified aircraft performing ejection seat tests, (for L-29 program) purpose being footage operation side by side during ejection sequences. Trade to me in 1999 (for ex FAF and ex Texas ANG T-bird) Registered by French state as F-ZAGR in 2001. State contract with on purpose created compagny for EPNER operations, (EPNER is a test pilot french school using CEV logistic, military organisation as well as chain command). Aircraft qualified "good to fly" but contract terminated due to policy change. Sold in United State of America and exported in 2003.
Thats all folks."
