the Church of st. Václav

Located on the eastern part of the square Trčků from the Linden near the city hall building, near the river Sázava. The first written mention of the church in the Light we have from the year 1318. At that time the church was probably a parish. A certificate of the right to him until the hussite wars vilémovský monastery. In 2. half of the 14. century was děkanátem today's Havlíčkův Brod and arcijáhenstvím Kouřimi. Světelská the parish was in the 16. century nekatolická, however, since the year 1607, here again are the parish priest catholic. In the just-mentioned 16. century, was originally a single-nave gothic church rebuilt in the renaissance style, while still retaining its one ship. The year 1506 and 1569 had the church two bells, the first from a master Bird of Kutná hora and the other from Thomas of Kutna hora. Also from the year 1569, the church has a pewter baptismal font. In the time of the renaissance, in a church or buried, this is evidenced by both a grave with the remains of Jan Rudolf Trčka of Lípa, and then also 10 renaissance tombs. When the church was 1578 built at the instigation of the Burian Trčka of Lípa wooden building of the municipal school, and later twice rebuilt. Also it was more or less opposite the building of the church much closer to the river, built the same year the building of the hospital. The year 1634 it became the church of the parish for churches in řečice village, Lower Town, Loukově and Lipnice. However, already apparently in 1694, the Lipnickis church once again becomes the parish and look under it Podlipnické churches. Antony Joseph Černínová then gives year 1722 the church to expand by two side ships, thus the church becomes trojlodním and gave also built up the choir loft. In 1930 the church was repaired in 2. World war were aligned for war purposes both renaissance bells. In 1971, the church was again repaired, and in 1976 gave the new bells, cast Laeticia Dytrychová the Architectural Prerov, which hangs in the belfry of the church to this day. In front of the church, then located three statues. The first two depicting st. Florian and the allegory of the Faith originate approximately from the mid-18th. Century and the last representing st. Václav is then of 2. mid-19th century. (Kuća 2008, 212, Sommer 1999, 12-13).
This is a three-nave church, while the middle ship is the oldest, originally gothic, later renaissance adjusting, subsequently fundamentally rebuilt around the first quarter of the century 18. on the inside the main ship. The presbytery is polygonal, and is together with the main ships, the oldest, vaulted by a cross vault with ribs of 16. century. On both sides of the presbytery stands the oratory and the sacristy. Tower straight section located above the west façade, while its top floor is a wooden construction, today painted red (Kuća 2008, 212).

Located in northern neighbourhood of the church and its gradual expansion has hit the premises of the church grounds, therefore, the defunct cemetery. Světelské underground

A better knowledge of the světelského underground brought us only the recent period of time. When editing minted corridors for museum use, inter alia, cleaned the hall, yet that the harvested material was a lot of, the archaeological material was very little and it was mostly just small pieces. The underground was in the past at least once virtually completely cleaned up, it happened under the occupation, when it came to his revelations. The first time we have a report from 1944 from J. Frič, who mentions finding "the labyrinth of corridors" near the church, accessible at the time of the former old pub, the height and width should be according to the author of 2 m, total length with niches 200 meters (Frič 1944, 150-151). However it could be cleaned up even from a purely practical reasons of the owner, etc. previously. This embossed dungeons, is the only preserved gothic monument to the period of the medieval city. On the walls are then supported by at least two styles of stamping, first the older horizontal vertical and the second under the obliques, it is in some places – for example on ceilings or in other locations of the crosses.
On světelské underground builds well. The material of her obtained has the character of the modern to the very young ceramics. Undoubtedly a well formed earlier than the underground, or better said, I'm sure she was earlier than certain parts of dungeons, as one of the turnings of the corridors hit into the body of the well. She was, after odkopání of the upper earthy layer of the embossed in the rock, but sometimes when stamping made contact with the dirt above the rock.
