Chino-vietnamese war [1979]

Sino-Vietnamese border conflict 1979

Although the Democratic Republic of Vietnam and China stood on the same side during the so-called Second Indochina War against the Americans, it was far from an ideal alliance. Their mutual relations could be called marriage of reason rather than pure love. Further differences between these countries arose in the second half of the 1970s and culminated in a short local conflict in February 1979.
