Some observations from the evacuation of Snake Island

The Russian news site Kommersant claims that the Russian military withdrew from Snake Island so as not to hinder the export of agricultural products from Ukraine.

Ukrainian fighters posted a video of their armed KMZ Dnepr MT-11 motorcycles. The motorcycles are armed with 9K115-2 Metis-M anti-tank 9K115-2 Metis-M systems (9P151 launcher and 9M131 anti-tank guided missiles).

Proč překlad jako Zmijí ostrov?

Pane kolego,
přiznávám bez mučení, že nemám zdání proč tomu tak je.

Protože had se rusky překládá jako zmeja -змея. zmije pak jako гадюка

No právě. Proto mi nebylo jasné, proč to Jirka překládá jako Zmijí ostrov. Jestli pro to je nějaký důvod.


Protože pokud vím, tak
змія (zmija) / змея (zmeja)=had
гадюка (hadjuka) / гадюка (gadjuka)=zmije


I v jiných jazycích je to hadí ostrov - Snake Island, Schlangeninsel, Wyspa Wężowa. Není tam Viper/Adder, Otter či żmija.
