I'm not commenting on the highlighted nonsense about the impossibility of retaking the territory (I couldn't have chosen a worse time to publish this sentence ). Rather, the fact that under the impression of the blunder of a number of Russian tank units, texts about the end of tanks on the battlefield are reappearing. For the umpteenth time. Again, of course, this is nonsense, and the Russian invasion of Ukraine illustrates this perfectly. A mobile coffin is a tank that has the wrong crew, no infantry escort and is deployed at the wrong time in the wrong place. If deployed appropriately, with proper escort and a trained crew, it is still a very lethal weapon that can deliver effective strikes against the enemy's defensive lines (as the current Ukrainian offensive in the Kharkiv region has proven, among other things). Similarly with the aircraft.

LPR volunteer Murz reports that Ukrainian forces have crossed the Seversky Donets near Bilohorivka and bypassed the 2nd LPR Corps, which is still defending Lyman.

If confirmed, that would mean three things:
1. the Ukrainians managed to cross the Siverskyi Donets River in places where the Russians failed to do so a few months ago and suffered a major fiasco there
2. it would be the third bridgehead north of the river and would indicate a wider intention (real or false)
3. the possibility of using this third bridgehead to encircle Lyman from the right, or to advance on Kremnina and threaten the Lysychansk-Syevyerodonetsk confluence from the north (damming the P-66 highway in a situation where the Ukrainians have barricaded the rail link to the confluence at Kupyansk and there is no other way in)

If Ukrainian forces were to break through the occupiers' defensive lines here, it could open up the possibility of a quick liberation of the northern part of the Luhansk region. This is a relatively sparsely populated area and has so far been largely a rear area, so we can expect a relatively sparse presence of occupation forces, moreover, demoralised in no small part by the flight from Kharkiv oblast. Again, this part of the Luhansk region is not as economically important as the southern part around Luhansk, but politically it would be hugely significant. At the moment Russia has no chance of capturing the rest of the Donetsk region (it has failed to do so in the last 2.5 months or so) and would now lose most of the Luhansk region. But this too may all be an effort, and the next strike may, apart from continuing at Kherson, come elsewhere. In Zaporizhzhya region, for example, there has been speculation for days.

Tak to je Ruská taktika - zahltit Ukrajince výzbrojí a až ji nebude mít kdo odvážet a skladovat, tak udeří.

Možno sa konečne dočkáme v Li*** aj ruského týždňa. Treba sledovať letáky.
