The ammunition shortage in Russia in eastern Ukraine is reportedly so severe that the troops there have reportedly been issued with completely unusable ammunition, including bullets that are so rusty that they have simply disintegrated.


Following Yevgeny Prigozhin's complaints that Wagner fighters were being denied ammunition, Alexander Khodakovsky of the pro-Russian Vostok battalion wrote that the situation is the same for everyone - suggesting an extreme case of "grenade famine".
The telegram channel VCHK-OGPU has published photographs of some of the munitions it claims were supplied to Russian regular forces. This suggests that the shortage is not limited to "independent" mercenary groups or militias, but also affects the military itself.


The supplies include "cases of inadequate quality ammunition, including category 2 and 3 (defective or generally unsuitable for combat use)". As can be seen from the pictures, the ammunition is now unusable and possibly unsafe, probably due to poor storage conditions.

There are reports that the Russians have used an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) at least once against Ukrainians.

Ve věku 36 let zemřel na zástavu srdce obránce Mariupolu, velitel 1. praporu pluku Azov, Oleh Vasiljevič Mudrak. Po kapitulaci stávil 3 měsíce v zajetí, ze kterého se vrátil výrazně pohublý.
