This should be the Antoniv bridge at Cherson. It was blown up by the occupiers. There's no way any more equipment's gonna get across. Blowing it up means that Ukrainian troops are already in Kherson, or the occupiers have decided to sacrifice the remaining troops on the right bank. Overnight, the bridges, dam and ferries were reportedly under heavy Ukrainian barrel artillery and rocket launcher fire. According to Russian social media, it was quite a massacre for the fleeing occupiers, but that may just be mob panic.


The water in the Dnieper is said to be about 6 degrees Celsius right now, and it's about half a kilometer between the banks.

The Russian army has cleared Kherson and the local population awaits the arrival of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Ukrainian first responders arrived in Chornobayivka and Kherson. And they may also be in Beryslav near the Kachov Dam. If this proves to be true, the Russian lines have broken down considerably faster than generally expected.

As the day progresses, more and more footage of the liberated places appears. The surprise is Ťahynka, which is about halfway between Cherson and Kachovka. With the destruction of the bridges in Kherson, it will now be interesting to see the area around the Kachovka dam.

Vladimir Putin, the President of the Russian Federation, has ordered the Russian government, represented by Prime Minister Mishustin and Defence Minister Shoigu, to rewrite the standards for the supply of equipment for the Russian armed forces by 14 November 2022 and bring them into line with the actual needs of the military. Which means that the GOP has stopped the state arms program GPV (госпрограммы производства вооружения, ГПВ) for 2018 to 2027, which for many years has eaten up two-thirds of the defense budget without achieving its stated goals.

Sergei Ryabkov (Сергей Рябков), the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, claimed that ministry officials had announced their readiness to start diplomatic talks five times in the past week. For example, on Friday (a few hours after Kherson was liberated), Sergei Ryabkov said that Russia was open to dialogue without preconditions.
On the same day, Dmitry Peskov (Dmitry Peskov), the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, reported on the matter and stated, among other things, that the conflict in Ukraine is a special military operation that can be ended by achieving its objectives or by peace negotiations.

Andriy Yermak (Андрій Єрмак) of the Ukrainian President's Office reported that 45 people were handed over to Ukraine and two were killed in a mutual exchange of prisoners near the settlement of Kamianske (Кам'yans'kyke, 47°32'33 "N 35°21'58 "E).

The initiative "Gift to Putin" announced a new project: Viktor mobile air defense for Ukraine. Now, volunteers want to raise money for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the amount of 90 million CZK (3.7 million euros) to buy 15 air defense vehicles called Viktor (Зенітна "тачанка" Віктор). The self-propelled air defense system consists of a Toyota pickup truck and a ZPU-2 anti-aircraft twin-cannon equipped with day and night sights.

Bylo potvrzeno sestřelení ukrajinského vrtulníku Mil Mi-8, přičemž měl zahynout jeden člen posádky (pakliže ne více) v hodnosti podplukovníka. Stroj se zřitil v Beryslavi v Záporižské oblasti. Vrtulník dle všeho sestřelil nepřátelský letoun.

Ukrajinci přišli o další vrtulník Mil Mi-8 Donecké oblasti, přičemž zahynuli oba jeho piloti podplukovník (nebo snad i plukovník) Seržij Chomik (Serhiy Khomik) a major Viktor Penkovy.

neutece, ale ani pres ten most neprejde aby to na druhem brehu osvobodila

To by bylo IMHO nereálné i kdyby nebyl odpálen. Ten most už byl docela dlouho poškozen a nepoužitelný pro těžkou techniku. Navíc jsou přes tu řeky jen tři přejezdy (silniční a železniční most u Chersonu a vršek přehrady v Kachovce), takže jen tři body, které by samozřejmě orkové zaminovali, opevnili a umístili tam obranu. Počítám, že pro UA to znamená, že definitivně padá nebezpečí pro Odesu (možnost odsunout odtama další jednotky, i když to už částečně udělali) a budou moci ponechat méně jednotek na obranu chersonské linie, protože bude podél široké řeky. Ty jednotky pak můžou poslat na jiná místa fronty. Bylo jich zde docela dost, protože to ruské uskupení zde bylo složené z velké části z toho lepšího, co okupanti měli. Tak předpokládám, že část jednotek přesunou do Záporiží, na zpevnění linií u Bachmutu a na podporu ofenzívy u Svatove, která stále pokračuje, i když pomalým tempem (útočí tam do zdola směrem nahoru na hřeben). Ale samozřejmě nelze zatím zcela vyloučit, že třeba dojde k rozpadu ruských linií a pokusí se zde UA o útok (přes hráz v Kachovce či obojživelným výsadkem na Kinburnskou kosu). Spíše bych ale sázel na pokus o ofenzívu ve směru na Melitopol, v jižní části Donecké oblasti či u Lysyčansku. Anebo něco úplně jiného - zatím každopádně prokázali ukr velitelé výrazně vyšší schopnosti v oblasti strategii a operačního umění než ti ruští, kteří často působí jak oživlé kopie z období někde mezi první a druhou světovou válkou.

Mi to připomíná spíše Krymskou válku 1853–1856.
